Sheila ready for probe, what about you, Rahul asks Modi
New Delhi, Dec 28, 2016, DHNS:

Seeking to turn the tables on the BJP, Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday demanded a Supreme Court-monitored probe into the graft charges against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Rahul said Delhi former chief minister Sheila Dikshit, whose name figures in thecontroversial Sahara/Birla diaries alongside Modi, had demanded an “impartial” inquiry into it.
“Sheilaji has said please order an inquiry. Why is Modiji shying away from an inquiry,” the Congress vice president asked at a joint press conference of eight opposition parties against demonetisation and corruption. “A Supreme Court-monitored probe,” he said when asked what kind of probe he wanted in the Sahara/Birla papers.
Rahul said the Congress and other Opposition parties welcomed the prime minister’s crusade against corruption and black money, but wondered why Modi was ignoring graft allegations against him.
“We have said, we are ready for whatever action you take against corruption and black money. But, why are you ignoring the charges levelled against you,” the Congress leader said reiterating his charge that Modi, during his tenure as Gujarat chief minister, received Rs 40 crore as bribe.
Last week, the Congress had tweeted a list of names of chief ministers who allegedly received kickbacks from corporate houses. The list also included Sheila.Initially, Sheila questioned the authenticity of the Sahara/Birla diaries and said she was surprised that the Congress had tweeted the list.
On Tuesday, Sheila went back on her earlier comments and targeted Modi by demanding an “independent and thorough probe” in the Sahara/Birla papers. “Why is PM Modi shying from an independent and a thorough probe into the #BirlaSaharaPapers?” Sheila tweeted.
