Unlike many others, who may be feeling the pinch after being forced to stand in serpentine queues before banks and ATMs to withdraw money, this woman from Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur Dehat district must be thanking god that she stood in the queue, for it proved lucky for her.

Sarvesha Devi, a resident of the district, had given birth to a male child while she was standing in the queue before a bank at Jhinjhak town around a fortnight ago. Since the child was born while she stood in the queue for money, she named him ‘Khanjachi’ (someone, who takes care of the treasury).
