It was party fund, says Mayawati
Lucknow, Dec 28, 2016, DHNS:

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Tuesday said the money deposited in the party’s bank account was collected through donations from party workers.
Mayawati came under attack after the Enforcement Directorate detected cash deposits of over Rs 104 crore in an account belonging to the BSP.
However, the BSP supremo asserted that the deposits were made in accordance with the rules.
“It was party’s money...should we have thrown it?” Mayawati said and accused the BJP-led NDA government of “misusing” the official machinery to “target” the BSP.
“My party is being targeted as I had exposed the BJP’s conspiracy with regard to the Congress and the SP alliance in Uttar Pradesh...BJP was shaken by the exposure and hence is now targeting me and my family,” she said.
Mayawati also said that the BJP was “upset” with her party for “leading” the attack on demonetisation.
