Akhilesh-Shivpal face-off again

Fresh crisis erupted in the Samajwadi Party (SP) after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav objected to the list of nominees released by his uncle and state unit president Shivpal Singh Yadav, made his own list of party candidates for the upcoming Assembly polls.
Akhilesh has sent the list to his father and party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.According to the SP sources here, the list contains names of nominees for all the 403 Assembly seats in the state, and was handed over to Mulayam late on Sunday, triggering a sharp reaction from Shivpal.
Shivpal, who has already released the names of 175 nominees for the polls, termed the move an “act of indiscipline” and said it would not be “tolerated.”
The sources said that Akhilesh’s list did not have the names of nominees with criminal records, who were nonetheless selected by Shivpal.
