A 32-year-old woman in southeast Delhi’s Jangpura has accused a Congolese national of raping her on the pretext of marrying her.
The police have filed an FIR and the man has been arrested.

The 26-year-old Congolese national, who works at a call centre in Gurgaon, used to stay in the same neighbourhood where the woman lives with her 14-year-old son.

“The woman is a beautician and has been living separately from her husband for several years. She is, however, not divorced,” said a police officer.

The Congolese man and the Indian woman met around two years ago through a common friend, said the police.
