UP govt orders judicial probe into Mathura violence
Lucknow, June 8, 2016, DHNS:

With the government under fire over the violent clashes in Mathura, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday ordered a judicial probe into the incident, which left 29 dead.
Justice (Retd) Mirza Imtiyaz Murtaza, a former Allahabad High Court judge, will head the judicial commission, and will submit his report in two months. An official spokesman said the probe panel will look into the reason for the clash between the police and members of a cult at Jawahar Bagh on Thursday.
“The commission has been entrusted with the responsibility of ascertaining the reasons and circumstances that led to the violence,” the spokesman said. It will also probe the role of the local police and civil officials as well as the information provided by the intelligence wing.
