Police intensify hunt for kidney racket kingpin
New Delhi, Jun 5, 2016, dhns:

A day after nabbing five men involved in an inter-state kidney racket, the Delhi Police have intensified their attempt to arrest the suspected kingpin.
T Rajukumar, the suspected mastermind, was last traced to a location in Tirupati and multiple raids have also been conducted in other parts of the country, sources said.
Police officers are also looking into the possibility that Rajukumar may be working for others. He had coordinated the racket with Aseem Sikdar, an accused, from a rented accommodation in Shadipur in Delhi, according to the police.
“We have made a special investigative team of 25 officers including five Station House Officers to investigate the case. We can’t even rule out the fact that there may have been other people who were higher up in the chain who coordinated the operation,” said a police officer.
“We are also gathering crucial evidences like the videos of these surgeries, and are also looking into documents and various hospital records to find out the teams involved in the surgery,” added the police official.
The mandatory video recording of all kidney transplant operations will help in gathering evidence, officials said. Investigators are also looking into the gang’s links abroad, including Indonesia, as they try to trace Rajukumar, sources said.
“We haven’t approached their local police as the investigation is still under way,” said a police officer.
Police are going through a large amount of data and trails leading to several states.
