The Indian Navy on Friday emphatically denied Pakistan’s claim of chasing an Indian submarine away from its territorial waters.

“Indian Navy categorically denies the claim as blatant lies,” said Navy spokesperson Captain D K Sharma. “The Indian Navy did not have any underwater movement in the said waters as claimed by the Pakistani navy,” he added.

The denial from the Indian side comes in the wake of a public statement from Pakistan military about detecting an Indian submarine, south of Pakistan on November 14.

The Pakistan military also released video footage of a submarine, claiming that the underwater boat is of Indian origin.

“The unsuspecting submarine was detected and localised south of Pakistani coast on November 16. Thereafter, despite submarine’s desperate efforts to escape detection, it was continuously tracked by the Pakistan Navy Fleet units and pushed well clear of our waters,” says the statement released by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations office.

This is the second denial of Pakistan’s claims by the Indian military in two days. A day before the Army had rejected Pakistan Army Chief’s claim of killing 11 Indian soldiers in cross border shelling.
