As Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s health improved significantly, Apollo Hospitals chairman Prathap C Reddy on Friday said she is breathing and sleeping well without ventilator support.
Stating that she could be shifted out of the ICU anytime, Reddy said Jayalalithaa is put on ventilator for 15 minutes daily to ensure that her lungs expand. “She is breathing beautifully and sleeping normally. I can assure you her mental functions are absolutely normal,” Reddy said.
The Apollo chief said Jayalalithaa is being kept in the ICU to ensure she does not contract any infection as her resistance level is low.
