Panama Papers: Cong, AAP take on Jaitley
NEW DELHI, Apr 08, 2016, DHNS

Panama Papers expose related to sports promoter Lokesh Sharma on Thursday prompted the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party to hit Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
They demanded that he should be away from the probe into the papers that has been initiated by the Centre. The AAP asked for Jaitley’s resignation and the Congress wanted him to “recuse” from the investigations.
The Congress demanded a Supreme Court-monitored probe into the list of tax evaders which has come out from Panama Papers leaks. Demanding the probe, Congress spokesperson Jairam Raemsh targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that the Indian list of tax evaders who have invested their ill-gotten wealth in Panama are known friends, well-wishers and ambassadors of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Panama Papers published by Indian Express on the basis of joint investigations by ICIJ and the Express say that Managing Director of sports company Twenty First Century Media Sharma has two companies in British Virgin Island. However, Sharma has said that companies have been set up legitimately with due processes as provided by the laws of India.
Ramesh said that Jailey should recuse himself from the probe.
The AAP picked up the expose on Sharma for further offensives against Jaitley.
The AAP and Jaitley are locked in a legal battle over the allegations by Arvind Kejriwal’s party in Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) scam case.
