BJP against projecting CM candidate in UP

The BJP is unlikely to project a chief ministerial candidate in next year’s Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls and would rather appoint regional strong-men with caste appeal.
Party’s new state unit chief Keshav Maurya said in Mirzapur that the BJP will not contest the elections holding up a single leader and will rather leave the job of choosing one to the elected members.

Initial brainstorming suggests that the party could appoint separate leaders for western, central and eastern regions who could strongly appeal to the predominant caste in the area in the 2017 polls that would be fought on the caste matrix.
