A fierce gunfight between militants and security forces have left one militant reportedly dead and three soldiers injured in north Kashmir's Baramulla district.
A search party of the army and the police came under militant fire early in the morning when the troops laid a cordon of Bongam village near Kunzar town in Baramulla district, around 30 km away from Srinagar.
The hiding militants, whose number remains unascertained, opened fire at the security forces.
The operation was on when this report was being filed.
The encounter on Srinagar-Gulmarg road has come a long lull of militancy in that area.
